Establishment of a Child Nursing Room (CHILD ROOM) for Enoshima Olympic Week

To support athletes, stakeholders, and spectators attending the regatta with young children, the Japan Sailing Federation Women’s Committee will set up a temporary Child Nursing Room (CHILD ROOM) at the Enoshima Yacht Harbor during the Lypo-C Enoshima Olympic Week.

Enoshima Yacht Harbor, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture

Dates:

Thursday, May 22 – Sunday, May 25, 2025

Hours of Operation:

9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (daily during race days)

Eligible Users:

Children up to approximately 6 years old, whose parents are participating athletes, stakeholders, or spectators of the regatta.

The CHILD ROOM provides a safe and quiet space where parents can breastfeed, bottle-feed, give baby food, and change diapers or clothing. The facility is staffed by several attendants, including a licensed nurse, who will assist with infant and toddler care during rest time.

Items such as baby beds, picture books, and toys will be available to make the environment comfortable and engaging for children.

Spectators are also welcome to use the CHILD ROOM. For example, if spectator boats are operating, parents may leave their infants at the facility while watching the races from the water.

This initiative began in 2002 during the National Sports Festival in Kochi Prefecture and has since attracted attention from other sporting organizations for its supportive environment.
